More from Africa

Here's a two-minute video about the celebrations in Kenya after Obama's election. Although I didn't vote for him, I nevertheless love seeing the hope and inspiration these people are feeling. I suppose my own travels to Africa and friends from there (including a former roommate from Kisumu, where this video was filmed) add to my own emotional response as I watch this.

  1. This is an uplifting report. I am also excited about the young american voters that were engaged and inspired in this election. It was great to see my 3 sons (ages 11-15) riveted to the TV set Tuesday night watching the results come in from accross the nation. This gives me hope that young americans still see they have a place in our democracy.

Barack is not the messiah and his presidential legacy is yet to be written, but even a hardcore critic has to admire is ability to inspire people towards civic duty and service to country.
